    I think the colour codes show the New York city early wave effect on current rates (see chart above)

          Other weekends weren't that way. Perhaps parents kept kids out because of school parties. Around this area, schools aren't doing many Halloween parties. They have to call them Fall parties when they have them.

            Here might be a good part of the reason for the jump in absenteeism; maybe the parents got a little unnerved and decided to keep their kids home the next day.
