Novel influenza A virus infections: WI
The three cases of novel influenza A virus infection reported to CDC during 2010 were identified as swine influenza A (H3N2) virus and are unrelated to the 2009 pandemic influenza A (H1N1) virus.
Week 1: 4 pediatric influenza-associated deaths: FL (1), NC (1), NY (1), PA (1)
NOTE: Since October 3, 2010, eight influenza-associated pediatric death occurred during the 2010-11 influenza season.
Total deaths: 13,341

Pertussis and measles increase beyond historic levels
NOTE: The death reported in week 1 from New York occurred in a Georgia resident; therefore the case counts have been updated to indicate this change in classification from New York to Georgia.
Week 2: 2 pediatric influenza-associated deaths: TX (1), ND (1), GA (1) NOTE: The death reported in week 1 from New York occurred in a Georgia resident; therefore the case counts have been updated to indicate this change in classification from New York to Georgia. Updated weekly from reports to the Influenza Division, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. Since October 3, 2010, 10 influenza-associated pediatric death occurred during the 2010-11 influenza season. Since August 30, 2009, a total of 282 influenza-associated pediatric deaths occurring during the 2009-10 influenza season have been reported.
