There are several guides available on this site; in particular, you may be interested in "Good Home Treatment of Influenza." Dr. Woodson, the author of these excellent planning manuals, is a reviewer for CAHF's Pandemic Influenza Workbook.

- Visit www.pandemicflu.gov to view the Federal Government's extremely comprehensive website on pandemic influenza and avian influenza. The link to the federal pandemic plan is in the "resources" box on the right side of the screen.
- You may wish to access the California Department of Health Services Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response Plan (PDF file)
- It is important to understand how your county plans to respond to the threat of pandemic influenza-all disaster response in California is local first (the locals are in charge of the situation and those higher up the resource flow chain act in support of the local response). In a pandemic, it is unlikely that much or any outside assistance will be forthcoming, so understanding your local plan is critical. Most local plans are available on the web (do a search for your county and pandemic influenza plan to find it). These plans are subject to change, so keep your eye on it.
