PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island’s hospitals reached their COVID-19 capacity on Monday, the same day the state’s two-week pause, meant to control the rise in new coronavirus cases that threatens to overwhelm the state’s health care system, took effect.
“Hospitals at capacity due to COVID,” the state said in a statewide emergency alert.

RHODE ISLAND IS preparing two field hospitals to begin taking patients as it enters a two-week "pause" as the state's facilities reach capacity due to a surge in the coronavirus pandemic.
... According to the governor's press secretary, Audrey Lucas, the state has assembled two field hospitals, and one of those hospitals will begin receiving patients Monday afternoon. Lucas told CNN the second field hospital is ready to accept patients and "may do so as soon as this week."
