Our daily update is published. Our testing, case, and death statistics continue to be affected by the Thanksgiving holiday. Hospitalizations are less affected by the data slowdown and are at the record-high level of 93,238.

Looking at regional hospitalizations, we see three regions moving up fast, as the Midwest possibly slows. In California, the number of hospitalized patients has doubled from 4k November 12 to more than 8k today.

The data problems will not go away tomorrow. Even after a normal weekend, Tuesday-Saturday numbers are substantially higher than Sunday and Monday. This is true for tests and cases, but especially true for deaths.

The data wobbles don't consist only of some states not reporting at all—though that's happened a lot—but that most or all states that are reporting do not have a full data pipeline from labs and health departments.
