If I ever needed to find a silver lining, it was this past week. The FDA and CDC recommended a ?pause? on distribution of the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine after six women developed blood clots and one died. More countries put a ?pause? on distribution of Astra Zeneca?s vaccine across the world for the same reason. And to top it all off, a recent study out of Israel revealed the Pfizer vaccine might be less effective against a particular COVID variant. Science has always been imperfect, but this week, it was also frustrating, baffling, and unpredictable.
To be honest, the COVID vaccine feels like a bit of a crapshoot. That is not to say the effort is futile, just flawed...
