In recent days, in Sucre the first girl with microcephaly was born as a result of a probable infection of the mother with the zika virus. The Departmental Health Service (SEDES) commissioned more studies to the progenitor who apparently does not present any symptomatology, but who admitted to have resided in Santa Cruz during the gestation stage. The results will be known in the following days, while an alert was activated in the region. Seven days ago, a girl was born in the San Pedro Claver hospital with microcephaly, immediately an epidemiological alert was accelerated since one of the causes of this pathology Is contagion by the zika virus. SEDES director Mart?n Maturano reported that the mother had all the laboratory tests done to confirm or rule out her being a carrier of the zika virus.
