  • Venezuela: 35 A-H1N1 suspects in La Cruz

At least 35 patients with respiratory ailments and symptoms of influenza A H1N1 flock daily to the Hospital Sim?n Bol?var, in the parish of La Cruz. Most have fever, cough, nasal congestion and difficulty breathing. Well informed this Eliana Malav?, practicing resident physician of the respiratory triage of the health center. Said that so far they have only hospitalized a patient, 'Dr. Manuel N??ez Tovar' (Humnt), was sent to the University Hospital because they do not have an isolation area to treat these cases. 'We have two isolation rooms, but for any type of patient, why who arrive with A H1N1 symptoms and need to be hospitalized, they should be referred to the N??ez Tovar, said. Pointed out that the triage room only is working from 6:00 in the morning until 5:30 in the afternoon, because there were not enough staff to activate 24 hours a day. Patients admitted in the evening are served in the emergency area. Malave said that it currently has the necessary inputs, however, they lack of masks for adults. As you will be recalled, Monagas has reported 28 positive cases of influenza A H1N1 , five of those people died. Epidemiology awaits the result of the other six cases.
