Situation Report:
Surveillance of influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) Week 1-46, 2012
1. Universal Surveillance: Trend and intensity of the activity of influenza-like illness (ILI).
As recorded in Schedule Weekly notifiable nationally, ILI consultations SE accumulated to 46 (11 to 17 November -2012) amounted to 345,281, showing an increase of 7% compared to EW 45, from of 6,657 consultations in the week before the 7125 consultations in week 46, with a rate of 106.8 per 100,000 population. Since the peak presented in EW 29 (15 to 21 July), the decline was 51%.

2. - Sentinel Surveillance: Monitoring of ILI consultations and hospitalized SARI: In this week's data are subject to change due to late reporting of two sentinel.
In sentinel surveillance was an increase from the previous week (251/5.565) in regard to the proportion of ILI consultations, accounting for 6% (336/5.526) of all searches. (Figure 8) .

During EW 46, the proportion of hospitalized with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) in sentinel sites showed a slight decline from the previous week (63/1.962), being 2.5% (50/1.970).
The highest number of cumulative cases of SARI (4612) are at the extremes of life, children under 2 years and over 60 years, followed in smaller proportion by schoolchildren and adolescents.

In terms of the proportion of income between SARI ICU admissions to ICU from all causes this week reached 18.8% (9/48). The SARI deaths reported by the Sentinel Surveillance to add 280 SE 46, 35 being the virus associated with respiratory and of these, 18 to Influenza A H1N1 pdm 09 and 11 to respiratory syncytial virus.
