Colatina records first death from H1N1 virus in 2019
The municipality of Colatina, in the northwest of the state, recorded the first death this year caused by the H1N1 virus. Earlier this month, Vanderleia Aparecida Caser, 51, had the flu and was seen at a private hospital in the city. However, on the 16th, she did not resist and died as a result of the disease. The first symptoms appeared on July 6. ?Two days later she went to the hospital with a lot of fever, body pain, congestion and tiredness,? said Sister Edileuza Caser. 'I think her situation was even more delicate because of low immunity due to treatment against lymphatic cancer,' he continued. However, according to her, the doctor who performed the care would have been negligent. ?He ordered an X-ray, said it was pneumonia, prescribed some medications and was discharged. Two days later she couldn't even change on her own and went to the hospital again. In this trip, they evaluated the possibility of tuberculosis and H1N1, ?he said. On July 10, Vanderleia was already isolated in the Intensive Care Center of the hospital. The next day, she was intubated and suffered some cardiac arrests until her death.
