    At least 830,000 people received H1N1 vaccine

    La Paz - Bolivia .- The latest reports of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), indicate that 830 000 people vaccinated against influenza throughout the country, where Tarija, Chuquisaca and Cochabamba have exhausted their dose.



    It was also reported that to date no more suspected cases emerged of possible infection, as the national director of this institution, Max Enriquez.



    A little over a year that the H1N1 flu has been declared the first pandemic of the XXI century, killing 18 156 people proven in almost every country in the world, according to records from the World Health Organization (WHO) , culminating in our mass vaccination campaign.



    Enriquez said that despite considerable time and take them several difficulties in its implementation, the campaign against this pandemic is near completion and would have reached 100 percent of its goal in three departments: Tarija, Chuquisaca and Cochabamba.



    This process also is the city of La Paz, where a lack only collect certain information to determine the extent of vaccination in its entirety, because they would have several health centers ran out of doses, however, there are still people who come for its implementation .

"We worked on the application of more than 830,000 doses until last week nationally and in Latin America exceeded 400 million vaccines, in that sense blocked the movement of the flu," said Enriquez.



    However, in the departments of Oruro and Santa Cruz there is still a large number of doses that are not being applied. Enriquez emphasized that the application of vaccines against this virus are free and secure.
