    A woman of 29 years without previous symptoms died in Bolivia as a result of influenza A, which will join the six deaths in the country by this epidemic, today reported the state news agency ABI.

    According to health authorities quoted by ABI, the victim, from Villamontes (in the region of Tarija, southern) had no previous illness and his health was deteriorating by the flu.

    The woman went on July 16 at a health center for a problem of tonsillitis but, despite treatment with penicillin, his condition worsened to a picture of bronco-pneumonia.

    Besides this case, ABI said that the authorities are awaiting confirmation of another death of a woman of 37 years in La Paz is expected caused by the virus AH1N1.

    The death of the wife of 29 years in Tarija joins five other deaths from the epidemic have been reported in recent weeks, three in Santa Cruz (east), another in La Paz and one in the neighboring city of El Alto.

    On the number of infected in the country, the latest report from the health authorities, given the July 20, identified 715 cases.

    And the northern Amazon region of Pando, which borders Brazil, is the only one of nine in Bolivia where so far no cases have been reported officially.

    Today, the Government of Mexico has donated to Bolivia 5000 treatments of Tamiflu to cope with the disease.
