This is also not a credible claim:

In this regard, he added that with the addition of the influenza vaccine, the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Nation, is a high immunization coverage throughout the country and added that in the province more than 92 percent of the population risk are vaccinated against the influenza virus.

That would be the highest vaccination rate (non-military) that I have ever heard of. In the study below it was remarked about the high vaccination rate of pregnant women at 63%:

In Quebec, 63% of pregnant women were vaccinated, which is a higher rate than vaccination against seasonal influenza.

Argentina has frozen food prices for 2 months due to inflationary pressures. This situation may have something to do with the denial of flu cases in the country. A hungry population is an unstable one.

This resolves the timing; the nurse was in the US in late December, so could have been early enough to be the index case.

It is one of four health workers who, according to data released by the Ministry of Health of the Nation, are affected by a strain of influenza type A. The outbreak began 11 days ago in hospital Our Lady of Mount Carmel and caused the closure of almost all services of this hospital located in the north of the province of Buenos Aires.

In the hospital of the capital Buenos Aires Rossi's total of six affected by the virus. The nurse who traveled between 20 and 30 December at Orlando, on vacation and another companion of tasks in the field of hospital therapy Areco are those more serious. "Both clinical indicators remain stable, but his condition is critical," hospital sources told Clarin. Last night, remove the ventilator evaluating one of the patients. Four other nurses do well. Complications also remain employed both interned in Cetrángolo Vicente Lopez and two women and a man treated at Parchment.

The 38 years that would have been caught in the U.S. works in the intensive care area of the hospital de Areco. There came the focus that the virus spread among employees and also reached a man who cared for a sick relative.

As admitted in the provincial health ministry, at least two of the affected employees of the hospital had no vaccine against influenza A, which is mandatory for agents performing work in sanitary areas. Vanina Rodriguez, ATE provincial leader, told Clarín that "last year in the hospital lacked vaccines de Areco. It's because they recorded severe management problems. "

The Nuestra Señora del Carmen has 96 beds and perform 120 professionals and paramedics. For more than a week is closed. Only emergency care and outpatient adult and pediatric patients for symptoms consistent with influenza. Initially, Buenos Aires authorities had ruled out the possibility that it was influenza A. And on Saturday evening, the National Minister, Luis Manzur, confirmed the presence of "a genome of influenza A" in samples obtained in four of the 11 patients.

It remains to determine the complete genotype virus
. Suspect is a strain on the U.S. winter affected more than 20,000 people this year. And that would be different from that caused some cases in 2012 in Argentina. So in the next vaccination campaign, which will begin in early March, be immunized against the kind that prevailed this year in several U.S. states.

The cause of his internment keeps on being a motive of study in the Institute Malbrán, where different lines of bacteriological investigation are continued, beyond having found in some samples traces of the virus of the flu A.
Another nurse interned in the Rossi remains delicate in the intensive therapy. Other patients of Carmen de Areco who needed internment for having picked up a respiratory virus evolved well and they were released from the hospital.

                          Buenos Aires.-
                          - An Argentine nurse who turned out to be affected by the virus of the flu A after a trip that did Miami (the USA) died today in a clinic of the from Buenos Aires city of Carmen de Areco, they confirmed to Efe sanitary authorities. 39-year-old Andrea Gordillo, was employed as nursing supervisor at a hospital and had travelled to the United States last December. In the same health center where he died Gordillo is interned another nurse, who remains ? delicate in intensive therapy ?, it indicated the department of Health of the province of Buenos Aires in a bulletin.

The sanitary Argentine authorities confirmed last Monday the existence of eleven cases of flu A in the country, all of them located in Carmen de Areco. The number includes Gordillo and another incomer nurse. Others nine patients of Carmen de Areco affected by the virus have been released from the hospital, it pointed out the bulletin.

The minister of provincial Health, Alejandro Collia, he has asked the population for calmness. ? There is circulation of the virus of the flu neither in the province nor in the national territory ?, he said. Also, he remembered that ? more than 92 % of the population in risk is vaccinated against the virus of the influenza ?, from what ? a high coverage of immunization registers in the whole country ? .En 2009 the flu A caused in Argentina more of half a thousand of dead persons. In whole 10.000 persons were affected by the illness, which proliferation forced to suspend the classes in the schools and universities, as well as all kinds of public and cultural activities in 17 of 23 provinces of the country. Two important facts are revealed in the articles above:

First, if the nurse really was hospitalized on January 28, his/her trip to Orlando in December may not be relevant. He/she could have contracted the flu locally, as a delay of at least 29 days from exposure to hospitalization seems unlikely.

Secondly, the reporting seems to have changed from two patients and nine nurses reported originally (which would have been very unusual to have that many hospitalizations in previously healthy nurses), to two nurses and nine patients.

THE PLATA. - Yesterday to the midday there died Andrea Gordillo (39), nursing supervisor of the from Buenos Aires Hospital Our Lady of Carmen, of Carmen de Areco, and one of four patients to whom the Institute Malbr?n had detected tracks of the viral genoma of flu A. Nevertheless, after confirming the decease, in the Department of from Buenos Aires Health they said not to be in conditions to affirm that it should be a question of the above mentioned illness.
The portfolio of provincial Health informed that the nurse suffered a flaw hemodin?mica serious, which precipitated the death. ' The cause of his internment keeps on being a motive of study in the Institute Malbr?n, where different lines of bacteriological investigation are continued, beyond having found in some samples traces of the virus of the flu A ', he joined.
With the same precaution there expressed himself the from Buenos Aires director of preventive medicine of the department, Luis Crovetto. ' We am not in conditions to put name and last name to the diagnosis ', said the official to THE NATION. And it continued: ' The epidemiologic investigation will clarify that once there are the farmings of fungi, bacteria and virus. Also the autopsy will help to do him to the victim '.

The news of the death of Gordillo drew loudly into the frame of mind of his partners of the hospital of Carmen de Areco. ' We were in a General Assembly when the so-called telephone one demolished us ', told to THE NATION Mariela Iturralde, worker of the nosocomio, who for two weeks remains closed by a minimal guard.
Although it was known that the state of health of Gordillo was serious and that, since on January 28 Rodolfo Rossi of La Plata had been interned in the Hospital after returning of his trip to the USA, it remained interned in intensive therapy, his partners were preserving the hope that it was improving.
' Andrea had a strong personality that allowed him to become the nursing supervisor. I thought that it might overcome it ', he remembered Iturralde. It was doing approximately 15 years that the victim, single and without children, was employed at the hospital of the city that saw her being born. Also, it was in charge of the local School of Nurses, added his partner.
