In so far this year, twelve people died from pneumonia , according to the epidemiological report on Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) of the Regional Health Bureau (Diresa) .
Six of the cases involved children under 5 years.
Cases increased in the last three weeks for the presence of icy weather. Temps are below 2 degrees below zero in upper provinces.
In the early months of the year were treated at 340 children under 5 years with pneumonia and 215 older adults in the health centers at the regional level . (With information from RPP Noticias).
