The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Wednesday that the number of deaths from coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country rose to 3,024. Until yesterday, 2,914 cases were reported.
Likewise, the number of those infected with COVID-19 is 104,020 positive cases nationwide. Until Tuesday they were 99,483.
The first coronavirus death in Peru was reported on Thursday, March 19. This was a 78-year-old man who had high blood pressure and had been admitted to the Air Force Hospital with severe respiratory failure.
The Executive Power ordered the extension of the national state of emergency until Sunday, May 24, 2020. It has been in force in the country since March 16. The measure involves mandatory isolation and restraint in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Since May 11, mandatory social restraint (curfew) is in effect from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m. in almost all the country, with the exception of the Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad and Loreto regions, where the 4 p.m. schedule is maintained. at 4 a.m.
Children out on the streets
As of Monday, minors under 14 years of age are already allowed to take to the streets accompanied by an adult. However, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) recommended that outings not be carried out in high-risk districts and departments.
The capital districts with high risk are: San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima Cercado, San Mart?n de Porres, Ate, El Agustino, Comas, Villa el Salvador, La Victoria, San Juan de Miraflores, Santa Anita, R?mac, Villa Mar?a del Triunfo, Puente Piedra, Los Olivos, Chorrillos, Independencia, Carabayllo, San Miguel, Bre?a and Surquillo.
While the regions considered to be at high risk of transmission by COVID-19 are: Arequipa, Callao, Ica, Jun?n, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Loreto, Piura, Tumbes and Ucayali, as well as all its provinces and districts.
