Vizcarra confirms 480 positive cases of Covid-19 in Peru

The President of the Republic, Mart?n Vizcarra, reported that the number of people infected with Covid-19 in Peru increased to 480, of which 38 are hospitalized, and of these 18 remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU ).
"We have 38 people hospitalized, of which 18 are in the Intensive Care Unit, of these, 12 are with mechanical ventilation," said the president, noting that 8,040 tests have been done so far, of which 7,460 gave negative and 480 positive.
During a virtual press conference from the Government Palace, the Head of State specified, in this line, that the average of approximately 6% of positive people with coronavirus remains, with respect to all those who requested the taking of samples or swabs. "From yesterday to today there is an increase of 64 new cases but it is within the average," he indicated.
Vizcarra Cornejo highlighted that since the day before, the number of people sampled has increased by more than 1,000. "Not only is the effort in Lima but also the results of samples that are already taken in some regions of the country are collected," he said.
In this sense, the president, highlighting the Government's effort to decentralize the Covid-19 discard tests, mentioned that in the regions where they are not yet carried out, they are brought to the National Institute of Health in Lima.
