    Health confirms first case of monkeypox in Paraguay

    The Ministry of Health reported this Thursday on the detection of the first confirmed case of monkeypox in the country. The fact is related to a person with a history of travel abroad.

    The health portfolio also reported that another 17 suspected cases of monkeypox, or monkeypox, were ruled out in the country.

    Asunción, Sep 29 (EFE) .- A man of Paraguayan nationality is the second confirmed case of monkeypox in Paraguay, where 45 suspected of having contracted the disease have been ruled out, the Ministry and Public Welfare reported Thursday.

    The patient, whose age or identity were provided, "is stable with outpatient management at his home," the health portfolio said in a statement posted on Twitter.

    The director of Health Surveillance, Guillermo Sequera, described the patient as a young man between 25 and 35 years old who consulted the doctor for injuries.

    Sequera indicated that he is following up on the patient's contacts, whom he assured has not left the country.

    "We have to identify the point of contact, possible people who infected him and also people at risk," he added in statements to the ABC Cardinal station.

    The person lives in the department of Central, neighboring Asunción, the capital of the country.

      Paraguay confirms third contagion of monkeypox

      Asunción, Oct 28 (EFE) .- A man between 40 and 50 years old, with no history of having traveled abroad and residing in Asunción, is the third confirmed case of monkeypox in Paraguay, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, which confirmed having ruled out 73 suspects so far.

      The affected "is stable, with outpatient management, mainly for the management of pain from injuries," the Health office added in a statement.

      The patient, who presented symptoms such as fever, fatigue, muscle pain and headache on October 20, went to the doctor's office four days later after the appearance of skin rashes.

                      Paraguay adds 63 cases of monkey smallpox

                      During the press conference held yesterday, Friday, the Health portfolio provided updated data on monkey smallpox in Paraguay. The latest report released yesterday by the Ministry of Health indicates that the number of people infected by monkeypox in our country amounts to 63 cases.

                        92 cases of monkeypox reported since last August

                        According to the latest report from the General Directorate of Health Surveillance (DGVS), to date, 92 cases have been confirmed in the country, all male.
