The new coronavirus pandemic, which causes Covid-19 disease, reached one million infections on five continents. On March 6, the Ministry of Health confirmed the first case in Colombia and today, April 2, the figure has already reached 1,161 infected in the 23 departments of the national territory. The Government maintains mandatory isolation until April 13.

The Health portfolio confirmed the new balance in the afternoon, which includes 56 people successfully recovered. However, uncertainty grows after the declaration of a "Mitigation Plan" because the contagion line of 10% of those infected is unknown.

The capital has become the major focus of the outbreak with at least half of the patients diagnosed. So far, 19 deaths are reported, among these older adults and people with a chronic history. For its part, Minsalud reported that Amazonas, Arauca, Vichada, Vaup?s, Guaviare, Caquet?, Putumayo, Choc? and Guain?a still register contagion figures, however, a contingency plan is foreseen, since they are departments that limit Brazil, Venezuela and Ecuador.

Four months after the epidemiological line overflowed in Wuhan, China, epicenter of the pandemic, the socioeconomic balance has been affected by an invisible enemy that reached 191 countries with a death toll of 46,891. Spain and Italy, the nations most plagued by the situation, confirm more than 1,000 deaths daily.
