The Ministry of Health reports that new confirmed cases nationwide decreased by 27.2% in the last week, while in the last 14 days they decreased by 52.3%. In addition, fourteen regions have lowered their cases in the last seven days and all in the last two weeks.
The case report of this Wednesday, May 24, registers 81 new cases of COVID-19, with a positivity of 0.83% in the last 24 hours nationwide, with 9,845 tests, PCR and antigen test. The daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 1.3%.
Of the 81 new cases, 59% are diagnosed by antigen test, 46% are diagnosed by active case search (BAC) and 39% of those reported are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it has 38% by antigen, 56% by BAC and 29% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Tarapacá, Atacama, Valparaíso and Antofagasta.
