    CORONAVIRUS CHILE LIVE | The Chilean health authorities announced this Friday the first areas that will be released from quarantine after months of preventive home confinement, the first phase of the "Step by Step" plan established by the Government to ease sanitary restrictions.

    The undersecretary of Health, Paula Daza, explained that seven communes (municipalities) of the Metropolitan region -to which Santiago de Chile belongs- and two of the neighboring Valpara?so region, will lift will advance to the second phase of the plan of unconfinement, which allows the removal of quarantines from Monday to Friday.

    Nine areas that will be the first to begin the gradual opening of the dozens that are under mobility restrictions across the country.

    The advance towards step 2 or "Transition" step implies, among other measures, the ability to take to the streets from next Tuesday, although the quarantine will be maintained on weekends and holidays, as well as the national night curfew. , which remains in effect every day.

    The meetings of people will only be of five people indoors and 10 outside, and the freedom of mobility in these areas does not allow its citizens to move to other communities that are still in quarantine.

    In Santiago de Chile, Vitacura, Lo Barnechea, Las Condes, ?u?oa, La Reina, along with the cities of the outskirts of the capital, will be the first, in addition to San Felipe and San Antonio in the Valpara?so region.

    OPENING TO THE SOUTH AND CLOSING IN THE CENTER-NORTH

    Likewise, in the last 24 hours, 2,545 new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported, totaling 341,304 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile on March 3.

    As for the deceased, there are 76 people who lost their lives due to the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 in the last day, reaching 8,914 deaths, to which we should add 3,932 deaths "suspected" or attributable to the new coronavirus.

    The hospital situation continues to improve, with 1,636 patients in intensive care units, of whom 239 are in critical condition, while the availability of mechanical ventilators reaches 527.

    Despite the beginning of the opening of restrictions in some areas of the country, Chile maintains the state of emergency due to catastrophe and the night curfew, as well as the closure of the borders and maintains it at the national level, except for the three southern regions mentioned, businesses that are not essential are closed.

    With almost 19 million inhabitants and more than 1.4 million PCR tests performed, Chile is the eighth country in the world with the most cases, ahead of the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain, according to John Hopkins University.

        Deaths from covid-19 reach 9,240 in Chile: infections total 349,800

        A new balance delivered this Tuesday by the Ministry of Health reported that Chile recorded 53 new deaths registered and 1,876 positive cases of covid-19, during the last 24 hours.

        Of the total of new infections, 1,236 were symptomatic, 462 asymptomatic and 176 without notification, explained the Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Arturo Z??iga.

        In this framework, the total number of covid-19 cases in the country reached 349,800 and the deceased 9,240.

        In turn, it was reported that there are 18,228 active cases and 233 critically ill patients.

        Likewise, the Ministry of Health reported 322,332 recovered cases; 1,529 hospitalized in the ICU; and 523 fans available.

                  Before handing over the figures on the pandemic, Minister Enrique Paris stated that the positive figure for PCR tests remains at 8%.

                  The Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Arturo Z??iga, reported that in the last 24 hours 1,462 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, totaling 362,962 throughout the national territory since the start of the health emergency.

                  "We must remember that we did not have this figure since the first days of May, which indicates that the slight improvement is ongoing and we have been improving for 51 days," said Z??iga.

                    Chile registers 1,781 new cases of coronavirus and adds 47 deaths

                      The Ministry of Health (Minsal) carried out a new balance, during the day of this Thursday, on the pandemic of the new coronavirus COVID-19 whose first cases in the country were registered in March of this year.

                      The Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Arturo Z??iga, reported that in the last 24 hours 1,947 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, totaling 366,671 throughout the national territory since the beginning of the health emergency.

                      On the other hand, the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS) confirmed the death of 97 patients, so the death toll rose to 9,889.

                      The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, assured that 11 regions of the country decreased the registration of new cases of coronavirus COVID-19 while the possibility of PCR tests was estimated at 9%.

                      Paris and stressed that physical distance, use of masks and continuous hand washing should be maintained in the framework of the advance to the lack of confinement of several communes in the country.
