The country accumulates 275 confirmed cases of covid-19. SOUTH MAIL

The country closed on Good Friday with 275 confirmed cases of coronavirus, seven more than yesterday. In addition, it registered a new death, with which the number of deaths rose to 20. Today was a month since the pandemic came to Bolivia.

"In the course of the day, 7 positive cases were reported, of which two correspond to La Paz, 1 to Oruro and 4 to Santa Cruz. With these seven positive cases, a cumulative total of 275 cases is reported, ”Roberto Vargas, the national head of epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, detailed tonight in his daily report on the state channel.

"I must report that on this day the ninth positive case of covid-19 was confirmed in Oruro, (in one) personan male, 45 years old, whose transmission is under investigation. He himself died today of a pulmonary complication. As a result, there are seven isolated people under surveillance, "explained Vargas.

Today the country lived an atypical holiday, in which Good Friday was celebrated through social networks and in silence both on the streets and in the churches.

On this day, the country also celebrated its first month in its fight against the coronavirus.

Through a communication dated April 15, the Health Minister, Marcelo Navajas, instructed the Departmental Health Services (Headquarters) "to prioritize the taking of samples to suspected cases with active symptoms", in reference to the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.
According to Instructive 09/2020, the restriction is based on recommendations of national and international standards.
Although the tests are a priority for suspicious cases with active symptoms, they are not so for "contacts of a confirmed or suspected case who presently have no symptoms." They are the so-called "asymptomatic" cases.
According to the “Guide and Management Guidelines COVID-19”, dated April 2020 and “under permanent review”, among two other definitions, a person “with acute respiratory infection (fever and at least one sign / symptom) is considered a suspected patient. of respiratory disease (for example: cough, shortness of breath). "
And confirmed case, patient "suspect with laboratory test for SARS-Cov-2 positive.
                                ....
"The will of the people who want to be tested is respected, but we must act rationally for now," the official insisted.
In Trigoso's opinion, "the lack of reagents is not a problem in Bolivia, but a global one", but that the Government is managing a solution with the support of international organizations.
As of Friday night, according to official data, 493 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Bolivia, with 431 active, 31 recovered and 31 deceased. The mortality rate with respect to confirmed patients is 6.29%
"The only security we have is our ability to adapt."
