While defining a new extension of the coronavirus quarantine, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported 5,641 new positive cases of coronavirus and 110 deaths in 24 hours.

Since the start of the pandemic, 3,288 deaths and 178,996 infections have been recorded throughout the country.

In the morning report of the portfolio, 21 deaths had been reported, corresponding to 6 men and 6 women from the province of Buenos Aires; a man and four women from the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); 2 men and a woman from Chaco and a resident of R?o Negro.

Later, 89 other fatal victims joined: 50 men (35 from Buenos Aires and 15 from the Federal Capital) and 38 women (24 from PBA, nine from CABA, four from Mendoza and one from Santa Fe, in addition to a person from Ciudad de which sex was not specified.

Again, the province of Buenos Aires accumulated the majority of new infections by reporting 3,852 positives, 68% of the cases of the day. Meanwhile, the City registered 1,079 infected, or 19%.

    The other infections of the day corresponded to Jujuy (172), C?rdoba (111), Mendoza (65), R?o Negro (55), Chaco (52), Santa Cruz (44), La Rioja (31), Neuqu?n (30) , Corrientes (16), Entre R?os (15), Tierra del Fuego (14), La Pampa (10), Tucum?n (10), Salta (9), Chubut (3), Santiago del Estero (2), San Luis ( 2) and Formosa (1).

Only three districts did not report new positives: Catamarca, Misiones and San Juan, which, after the increase in cases in La Pampa, became the Argentine province with the fewest infections, only 20 so far.

This Tuesday 14,899 new samples were made and since the start of the outbreak there were 675,011 diagnostic tests for this disease, which is equivalent to 14,875.7 samples per million inhabitants. The number of cases discarded until yesterday is 392,744 (by laboratory and by clinical / epidemiological criteria).

Of the total cases up to Wednesday morning (49.2% women and 50.8% men), only 0.6% were imported, 29.5% had close contacts, 53.3% had community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.

Meanwhile, it is known that the quarantine will have a ninth stage starting next Monday, August 3. It will be so because the number of daily cases is high, but it is not yet known how it will be implemented, and if there will be common strategies or if the City and Greater Buenos Aires, the districts most affected by infections, will take different paths.

Something about it began to be outlined this Wednesday morning in La Plata, where the Buenos Aires officials raised their will to keep things as they are and even advance to the next of the 6 stages that were announced ten days ago to add activities in the inevitable coexistence with the coronavirus.

In the Province, meanwhile, the high number of daily cases is more worrying, the position seems to be more conservative and could even imply going back in phase.

In the province, the union secretary of the Trade Union Association of Buenos Aires Health Workers (CICOP), Pablo Maciel, warned of the possibility of "hardening social isolation measures" to "avoid the worst case scenario and have to choose who who lives and who doesn't, for lack of resources. "In Argentina the epicenter is the AMBA, but we are seeing that we have places that had no cases and now there are," said Carla Vizzotti, secretary of Access to Health of the Nation.

“At this time, there are no provinces that have not reported cases in the last 14 days. There are some departments that do not have cases, some have close contact cases, some that have small conglomerates, but there are a significant number of provinces that have outbreaks with cases in which the epidemiological link is not found and that makes transmission suspected. community, "said the official.

Vizzotti noted that, given the evidence of greater cases in different jurisdictions that previously registered a few, "work is underway" with the local health ministries. In this sense, he reported that the Minister of Health, Gin?s Gonz?lez Garc?a, met yesterday with the health officials of the provinces to explain the scope of the DNU that restricts social gatherings in private homes at the federal level, the main cause of the spread of the virus. .

Regarding the incidence per 100 thousand inhabitants, Vizzotti added that “in the country there are 519, but if we break it down, the City has 2,218, the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) 1,231, the Metropolitan region 1,008, the rest of province 203, Tierra del Fuego increased to 517, Jujuy 393, R?o Negro 371, and Chaco -which was very close to the incidence of AMBA- now decreased to 328 ”.

Currently a total of 1,293 people have the disease in intensive care units throughout the country, of which 80.5% do so in health centers in the city and in the province of Buenos Aires.

The occupation of intensive care beds, beyond the illness that explains the hospitalization of the patient, at the national level averages 56.5%, while in the AMBA it reaches 66%.

Vizzotti took advantage of this morning's press conference to recall prevention measures: “You have to wash your hands, ventilate the rooms, wear a mask, keep two meters away and contact the health system when symptoms occur. If we have clinical confirmation, by swabbing or waiting for the result, complete the isolation ”.

There she completed: "It does not matter if you live in an apartment without cases, without preventive and compulsory social isolation (ASPO) or without transmission, if the virus finds us complying with prevention measures it will find us better."

                      August 9, 2020

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported, in its last epidemiological part, that during the last 24 hours there were 84 deaths and 4,688 new positive cases of coronavirus. With these data, the total number of infected throughout the country amounts to 246,499 and fatalities total 4,606.

Of the total of these cases, 1,131 (0.5%) are imported, 65,737 (26.7%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 139,746 (56.7%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation .

To date, the total of those recovered from COVID-19 exceeds 170 thousand. In reference to this, the Undersecretary of Health Strategies, Alejandro Costa, said that this figure represents 70% of the total confirmed cases.

Yesterday 15,163 new samples were taken and, since the beginning of the outbreak, 845,220 diagnostic tests for this disease were carried out, which is equivalent to 18,626.7 samples per million inhabitants. The number of cases discarded until yesterday is 477,897 (by laboratory and by clinical / epidemiological criteria).

In an interview with Infobae, the Minister of Health of the Nation said that, "being optimistic, he could ensure that the vaccine against COVID-19 will be available next year." He also referred to the increase in the number of cases. “I think there is community circulation in a huge amount of population. In addition, we went from doing 2,000 tests to now doing 16,000 per day, which naturally expands the possibility of more cases. And, finally, by expanding the way in which a person is diagnosed or considered to have the virus, clearly we are also going to expand the number, "said Gin?s Gonz?lez Garc?a.

Towards the end of the report, the head of the national health portfolio added: “This is not over yet. So that we can continue to have fewer consequences, especially fatal ones, we have to fulfill each other's personal responsibility. We went back to the roasts, to the mateadas, to the mass meetings, and that is a mechanism that has been shown to be brutal in the expansion of circulation and therefore in the number of patients ”.

The official pointed out that this 1.9% fatality rate is "a low percentage, a stable number" that is measured in relation to those infected. He also confirmed that Argentina surpassed Mexico and Ecuador in the incidence of the disease but that "mortality per million inhabitants remains below that of most countries in the region," with an increase "that is not so accelerated" and that it allows "the health system to continue providing answers."

Wait for it with anxiety because it is going to be very good news, "said Gin?s Gonz?lez Garc?a, Minister of Health of the Nation, regarding COVID-19 after visiting the Buenos Aires municipality of La Matanza, together with Mayor Fernando Espinoza, at noon.
