          May 24, 2020

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Sunday that during the last 24 hours there were 7 deaths and 723 new positive cases for coronavirus. The total number of infected in the whole country amounted to 12076 and the fatalities reached 452.

Of the total of these cases, 955 (7.9%) are imported, 5,302 (43.9%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 3,766 (31.2%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation. .

Of the total infected in Argentina on the last day, 494 are from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, 196 in Buenos Aires, 20 in Chaco, 6 in C?rdoba, 5 in R?o Negro, 2 Santa Fe and 1 in Neuqu?n.

Since the last report issued, 4 new deaths were recorded. Three men, two of 96 and 89 years, residing in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); one of 54 years, resident in the province of Buenos Aires; and a woman, 88 years old, residing in the province of Chaco. Currently the number of deceased is 452.

During the morning the portfolio that Gin?s Gonz?lez Garc?a leads confirmed that there were three new deaths. The three deaths were men: a 92-year-old resident in the province of Buenos Aires; one 54 years old, resident in the City of Buenos Aires; and a remaining 66-year-old resident in the province of Chaco.

The health portfolio also announced that the incidence rate of infections is 25.1 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and that the average age of those affected is 38 years, with a slightly prevailing percentage for men in a 51.4% of infections.

At this stage of the quarantine, the urban conglomerates that have community infections are the City of Buenos Aires, the AMBA, the departments of Resistencia, Barranqueras, Font?n and Puerto Vilelas de Chaco, the capital city of C?rdoba, Bariloche, Choele Choel and Cipolletti de Black river.

At the moment, in intensive care there are 181 people and to date 3,732 have been discharged. 96,632 cases were discarded thanks to clinical, epidemiological and laboratory analysis. In relation to the CPR tests, 129,418 were already carried out in the country, of which 3,525 were carried out in the last 24 hours. The percentage of positivity in the Argentine population is 10.57% and 2,852 diagnoses have been developed for every million inhabitants.

On Saturday night, President Alberto Fern?ndez confirmed the decision to extend the quarantine until June 7 and warned that coronavirus cases will continue to increase. Accompanied by the head of Buenos Aires Government Horacio Rodr?guez Larreta and the Buenosairean governor Axel Kicillof, the President argued that the growth of cases registered in recent days was decisive when deciding on the extension of the isolation.

He also announced that "the quarantine will last as long as it takes for the Argentines to be healthy and not die" and said that "the rest are sterile debates."

During the conference, Fern?ndez showed the evolution of the doubling time in the most affected cities, except R?o Negro, "because they have the matter fairly well controlled." Thus, it focused only on the Federal Capital, Buenos Aires, Chaco and C?rdoba. "In all cases they went back to the previous phase, all are below 25 days."

"So the idea we have is to address the problem where it is. There is a very clear concentration in the popular neighborhoods. We agreed to put the effort into those neighborhoods where many people live in little space, where one catches and infects the rest with greater ease. I want to tell the neighbors that we are going to work for them. We are going to increase the number of tests ”, he stated.

The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Friday that during the last 24 hours there were 12 deaths and 717 new positive cases for coronavirus. Thus, the total number of infected throughout the country amounted to 15,419 and the fatalities reached 520.

Of the total of these cases, 968 (6.3%) are imported, 6,727 (43.6%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 5,408 (35.1%) are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation .

In the morning part, two deaths had already been confirmed: the first was a 62-year-old man residing in the province of Buenos Aires; while the other was a 43-year-old resident in the City of Buenos Aires.

At night there were 10 more deaths: four men, three of 46, 55 and 32 years, residing in the city of Buenos Aires; one of 80 years, resident in the province of Buenos Aires; and six women, three aged 102, 93 and 69, also from the province of Buenos Aires; two of 78 and 95 years old, from the Federal Capital; and a 57-year-old from Chaco.

Of the new 717 cases, 398 are from the city of Buenos Aires, 273 are from the province of Buenos Aires, 273, 26 from Chaco, 12 from R?o Negro, 6 from Corrientes and 2 from Neuqu?n. A case from the province of C?rdoba was reclassified to the city of Buenos Aires.

Formosa and Catamarca continue to be the only provinces without coronavirus cases.

According to the latest official data, 5,405 new samples were performed yesterday and 150,486 diagnostic tests were carried out since the start of the outbreak, which is equivalent to 3,316.4 samples per million inhabitants.

In addition, Health sources indicated that the number of cases discarded until yesterday is 110,796 (by laboratory and by clinical / epidemiological criteria) and that the main age groups affected by the registered cases correspond to people between 20 and 59 years of age, the average age of 37 years.

This morning, the Buenos Aires Health Minister, Fern?n Quir?s, explained what is the index that will determine the end of the restrictive measures.

This is the R0 factor, an indicator that measures the intensity of an infectious disease. As Quir?s explained, when that indicator is above 1, the curve is on the rise and it is necessary to maintain a strong, strict quarantine. On the other hand, when R0 is below 1, governments begin to relax measures. Today that number in the City ranges between 1.3 and 1.4, Quir?s reported.

Germany lifted its quarantine with an R of 0.6; Italy, with 0.9 and Spain with 0.8. These are phases where although the positives and deaths caused by the virus continue, the scientists conclude that the "mountain" entered a regressive stage.

The official provided these details after the head of the Cabinet of the City of Buenos Aires, Felipe Miguel, stated that the quarantine will last at least until August in a radio interview.

Currently in the world 5,844,499 people were infected by coronavirus: 361,119 died and 2,444,898 managed to recover.

Argentina registers 17,415 COVID cases and 556 deaths
                        06/02/2020 02:07

Buenos Aires, Jun 1 (EFE) .- Argentina reported on Monday 564 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, so the number of infections reached 17,415 since the pandemic began, while after 17 new deaths the figure total deaths from the disease rose to 556.

The daily afternoon report of the Ministry of Health details how Buenos Aires and the province of the same name continue to record the vast majority of new positives, with 274 and 252 on the last day, which meant 93.2% of them.

The total figures of those affected in the capital and the province of Buenos Aires reach 8,480 and 6,144 respectively, and the area most affected by the coronavirus is the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), formed by the city that gives it its name and the wide urban cord that surrounds it and that belongs to the province.

For a few weeks now, the humble settlements known as slums have been one of the critical points of the fight against COVID-19, and the Government has focused its efforts there, while studying a forthcoming extension of the quarantine that runs until 7 September. June.

Of the total of 17,415 coronavirus cases that have occurred in Argentina, 5.6% have been imported, 43.3% are close contacts of confirmed cases and 36% are cases of community circulation, while the rest are found in epidemiological research.

A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL AMONG THE NEW DEAD

A total of 17 people died in the last 24 hours, according to the latest ministerial reports: eight of them in Buenos Aires, five in the province of Buenos Aires, three in Chaco (north) and one in C?rdoba.

One of the victims of Chaco was just 14 years old and is the youngest person to have died of coronavirus in Argentina so far.

The rest of the deceased were between 44 and 92 years old, while of the 17 deaths, ten corresponded to men and six were women.

Despite mourning the death of the young teenager, Chaco, one of the few areas considered the highest risk in Argentina by the Government, only registered three new positives.

The southern Rio Negro and Mendoza, in the west, had 11 and 8 cases each, and were behind the AMBA in terms of daily infections.

Salta (north) registered this Monday three of the eleven total cases that it has detected since the pandemic reached the country.

Two Argentine provinces, Formosa and Catamarca, both in the north, continue without registering a single case of coronavirus.

To date, 5,621 people have been discharged after having overcome the disease in Argentina.

THE FUTURE QUARANTINE EXTENSION IS COMING, CONTROLS CONTINUE

While the Government of Alberto Fern?ndez plans with the Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires executives the extension of the strict quarantine in the AMBA, the current phase premiered a new week with the same concerns that the previous one ended.

Likewise, the isolation continues in one of the slums, Villa Azul (between the municipalities of Quilmes and Avellaneda), and in other settlements, as Efe found in 1-11-14 of Buenos Aires, located in front of the team's stadium San Lorenzo de Almagro, there is an entrance door to enter and exit the place, guarded by the Argentine Gendarmerie.

The Naval Prefecture carries out traffic controls, for its part, and they are rigorous when entering the capital from the province of Buenos Aires, where only essential workers can access.

In turn, health personnel from hospitals such as Ramos Mej?a's, in the AMBA, protest the working conditions in which they find themselves, with claims such as coronavirus tests for workers and greater elements of personal protection.

Argentina has been in mandatory quarantine since March 20, but most of the country is already in advanced stages of it, with greater flexibility. EFE

This Wednesday a new alarm went off in the Buenos Aires government due to a new outbreak of infections in a town in the suburbs. This is the Jos? Luis Cabezas neighborhood, located between the towns of Ensenada and Berisso.

Governor Axel Kicillof ordered that a part of the neighborhood be completely isolated because 39 coronavirus cases were detected between yesterday and today and there are another 50 suspected cases to analyze.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires confirmed to Infobae this Wednesday the death of two residents of Villa Azul, a neighborhood shared by the municipalities of Quilmes and Avellaneda, who were hospitalized as patients with positive COVID-19.

In principle, the head of state would announce the extension of the quarantine for two more weeks. However, there are expectations because the Government of the City of Buenos Aires intends to move forward with various flexibilities.

Porte?o officials admitted in the last hours that they presented a plan to reopen clothing and shoe stores. Also so that they enable some sports activities in public spaces at night and even so that the boys can spend more hours on the street.
