Venezuelan former minister of health F?lix Oletta reported that according to data provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), over the last 20 weeks about 1,250,119 cases of acute fever with an unknown diagnosis have been recorded in Venezuela.
"Unexplained cases of acute fever alone total 844,262 over weeks 26-40 this year; in addition, over the last three weeks, other 405,857 cases have been registered," Oletta outlined.
Oletta alerted at a press conference at the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas that the government needed to correct communication errors regarding the current epidemics of dengue, chikungunya, and malaria in the country.
