  • Wipe out the 10 worst germ hot spots

    Some newly discovered germy places:

    * The metal aeration screen at the end of your kitchen faucet
    * Crevices in and around the slimy rubber stopper in the garbage disposal
    * The door mat (don't put grocery bags on them)
    * The vacum cleaner = a study found that 13 percent of all vacuum cleaner brushes tested positive for E. coli
    * Your car's dashboard
    * Soap dispensers = one recent study found that about 25 percent of liquid soap dispensers in public restrooms were contaminated by fecal bacteria.
    * Restaurant ketchup bottle = don't use a napkin to hold it — they're porous, so microorganisms can walk right through
    * The refrigerator seal = a survey of 160 homes found that the seal around the fridge tested positive 83 percent of the time for common molds.
