Who knew that dried mushrooms were a terrific source of vitamin D. My neighbors headed up into some local mountains and came back with grocery sack full of morels. They plan on drying most of the mushrooms. I should ask them if they know that drying them in the sun packs them full of D vitamins. In fact, if you have any dried mushrooms they can be set in the sun in the summer months and they will manufacture and hold the vitamin D for almost a year! What a great way to add to your vitamin stores.
By the way, those dastardly neighbors haven't shared any of their 'shrooms'.
