SA hit by bad flu season

South Australia is in the grip of a severe flu season with the number of cases running about three times higher than in 2014.
More than 5700 cases have been confirmed so far this year with the majority of those the influenza B strain, SA Health says.
It says only time will tell if 2015 turns out to challenge the worst on record, currently 2009 when about 10,000 cases were reported during the swine flu pandemic.
"We haven't yet seen the peak. But hopefully we will be able to cap the numbers with more people getting the flu shot," Health SA chief medical officer Paddy Phillips said...
