S. Korea reports 7 more MERS cases, bringing total to 145

SEJONG, June 14 (Yonhap) -- South Korea confirmed an additional seven cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Sunday, bringing the total number of people diagnosed with the viral disease to 145.
Four of the seven new patients were infected while visiting or being treated at Seoul's Samsung Medical Center, according to the Health and Welfare Ministry.
Two others were believed to have been infected at two different hospitals while one is believed to have caught the disease while accompanying a MERS patient in an ambulance.
The government had maintained all transmissions had occurred at hospitals that had housed a MERS patient, mostly unknowingly.

Ministry officials noted, however, that no longer may be the case after an ambulance driver who had transported two MERS patients last week was diagnosed Saturday.
