South Korea - Government coronavirus MERS press release dated June 10, 2015 - 108 confirmed cases, 229 tests pending, 513 net in quarantine today
MERS-CoV claimed two additional deaths in Korea, raising the toll from the outbreak to 9. #90(male, 62) suffered from alcoholic hepatic cirrhosis and cancer, and #76(female, 75) had a history of multiple myeloma.
A portal site* for MERS will be open on June 10(Wed). Most of the information will be available in the Korean language, but there will be a designated section for English information from June 11(Thu), including press release summaries, precautions, hotline service and reporting instructions.
Starting from June 12(Fri), 9:00 A.M., the English language MERS hotline (043-719-7777) will be available 24/7.
MOHW calls for travel restrictions for those who visited medical institutions exposed to MERS during designated periods. If you are informed of your possible exposure while abroad, please, immediately stop traveling and contact the Korean Embassy.
Intensive care is being provided through designated regional hospitals for MERS treatment in addition to the National Medical Center.
There are 16 hospitals treating confirmed cases in negative pressure rooms, and 32 hospitals for suspected patients.
