    The head of the Department of State Health, Constantino Perez Quiroz, reported that from 2009 to date, there have been 5,550 human influenza positive cases, of which 23 patients died and the rest recovered.

    Tlaxcala .- One year after the emergence of influenza A/H1N1 virus in the country, in Tlaxcala epidemiological alert continues after that so far this year have confirmed two deaths and 27 positive cases.

    The head of the Department of State Health, Constantino Perez Quiroz, reported that from 2009 to date, there have been 5,550 human influenza positive cases, of which 23 patients died and the rest recovered.

    He said that after the virus is still present in the territory Tlaxcala, preventive measures remain critical for controlling this disease.

    He asserted that once implemented the national alert, the SESA proceeded to the installation of the Operational Command, where it orchestrated the actions of prevention, surveillance, vaccination, timely treatment, outreach and guidance to the community, allowing head-on attack the brunt of the disease.

    He said that in this struggle, participated in a coordinated manner by the IMSS, ISSSTE and SESA, who joined the medical and economic efforts to provide timely care to those who suffered the consequences of the disease by providing the necessary areas for hospitalization, drugs, studies laboratory and follow up until complete recovery.

    Quiroz Perez acknowledged that at the beginning of the pandemic, the situation was unfortunate, as the health authorities in the state, called on people to take precautionary measures, and seek medical units before any symptoms associated with respiratory diseases.

    The physician finally said that according to past performance has shown that human influenza is a disease that is here to stay, so the actions of the health sector institutions and the participation of Tlaxcala, will allow an effective control of the disease in this entity.
