    Self-medication was the primary cause of a number of deaths to the epidemic rise of influenza A H1N1 in Tamaulipas and other regions around the country, hence the decision was made to legislate for the regulation of the sale of prescription drugs.
    The head of the State Commission for Sanitary Risks (COEPRIS) Mar?a del Socorro Puga, reported that it is making it possible for people to abandon the old habit of self-medication, since it could be dangerous, and can even be fatal.
    Unfortunately, most people act on behalf of their comfort, but may reach the dispenser of the pharmacy and say, "I have a sore tooth."
    Revealed that the scientific and technical studies found that in Mexico, following influenza, frightened people resorted to self-medication and because of it were disrupted in health, even death.
    Self-medication is what leads to this, so we must close ranks against this problem," he said.
