Cuautla, Morelos .- Although the State Health Department on Friday lifted a health alert for the influenza A H1N1, officials from the Sanitary District III called on the population of the East zone to maintain preventive measures against this disease in the areas of school, work and home, at the risk of new infections, although to a lesser intensity.

After ensuring that this type of influenza "is here to stay," Mora Angela Patricia Gonzalez, head of the Sanitary District III held that although the risk is minimal and, because thanks to preventive measures taken by the health sector this new disease was controlled, people need to keep the hygiene and safety measures to avoid this and other diseases.

He said the health alert was lifted in response to the drop in cases and control one has over existing ones, however, the risk of infection is latent lesser extent, he reiterated.

Mora Gonzalez recalled that until last June, the towns in the area east of the state counted about 18 cases of influenza A H1N1, all controlled and no deaths. Vaccination activities also moved between the groups at highest risk of contracting the disease.

He reported that like any other disease, the Health Jurisdiction III will maintain surveillance on influenza A H1N1, and measures of prevention and control of it.

However, it considered necessary to involve the public to avoid the appearance of new cases, hence the call to maintain preventive measures in schools, homes and workplaces.

"We have to constantly washing hands, using antibacterial gel, avoid self-medication for symptoms of flu and go to the nearest health center to seek care, these measures not only avoid the flu, other diseases also that are caused by bad hygiene, "said the chief court.
