              Propose cremation of dead influenza
              by Fernando Barroso

Tijuana .- Seek Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the burial, cremation of any person who dies because of influenza, but has not been discussed with affected families.

This announcement was considered as a measure to prevent a further spread of influenza in Baja California. Health Secretary in the State propose to families of patients with the virus, cremate them in case of death to kill the virus.

According to the secretary of Baja California, Jos? Guadalupe Bustamante Moreno, to cases of influenza were reported in the city, which still exist today as the two cases of the UABC and the risk of contagion, said "we convince, convincing action, because it is a rule that we must do through funeral homes.

Guadalupe Bustamante based his argument in such a position statement and that the duty of the state agency is to "protect the population."

He added that drastic measures must be taken for a hard problem because we must remember that in the winter, the state Health Ministry sent only in random samples, at least 32 thousand.

Estimates to another possible outbreak, Dr. Guadalupe Bustamante said the consultations will increase significantly up to 40 percent minimum for symptoms of influenza, now that cold season arrives, because it is in this climate that the virus grows more easily.

"What we need to identify ourselves, is that the increase that there will be, there may come H1N1 and we complicated" but said the health sector should be ready by immunofluorescence and PCR laboratory to ensure what is influenza.

Bustamante Moreno stressed that "there will be more cases and we must be aware of that, there may be more dead."

The only way we have of preventing more deaths, society, government and media is that before the first symptoms, can be complicated, but there will be other cases in which people will go home.

The most recent WHO update (update 63, 28 Aug 2009, http://www.who.int/csr/don/2009_08_28/en/index.html) shows that Mexico is one of the two places in the world (at least of those brave enough to report it )showing VERY HIGH intensity* levels of acute respiratory disease*.

WHO MAP LINK to INTENSITY* OF ACUTE REPIRATORY DISEASE

                * Intensity is an estimate of the proportion of the population with acute respiratory disease covering the spectrum of diseases from influenza-like illness to pneumonia (WHO's definition)

I fear that this could be Mexico's SECOND WAVE.

Will the second waves appear in order of first wave infection? Should we be looking at New York, Chicago, etc.for second wave activity?

                      Received: 28 February 2008 Accepted: 5 August 2008 Published online: 23 August 2008
Abstract The hydrogeochemistry of 26 wells belonging to ten different aquifers in the county of Ensenada, Baja California, is studied. These wells are all used to supply the rural communities in the region, which comprise ~37,000 inhabitants, excluding the city of Ensenada. High total dissolved solids (TDS) concentrations (maximum 7.35 g l−1) indicate that salt is a ubiquitous contaminant in the aquifers due to seawater intrusion. The aquifers that support extensive agriculture activities (Maneadero, San Quint?n, San Sim?n and El Rosario) are characterized by higher N?NO3 concentrations (maximum 20 mg l−1) derived from fertilizers. Fluoride concentrations exceed the 1.5 mg l−1 Mexican official limit in only four wells. The enrichments of F− in the southern aquifers are thought to be associated to water?rock interactions controlled mainly by Na?Ca equilibrium reactions with fluorite, as suggested from high dissolved Na concentrations in these waters. In the northern aquifer of Maneadero, no enrichment of Na is found and a geothermal source for F− is likely. Water is hard to moderately hard, with Ca/Mg ratios >1. Although drinking water directly from the tap is not a common practice in these localities, most sources have concentrations of major ions and TDS that exceed the Mexican official limits.
"The only security we have is our ability to adapt."

He was teaching classes when he first exhibited symptoms and was told by the school?s administration to stay home as a matter of policy. It was confirmed during his hospitalization that he had contracted the H1N1 flu virus; however, his death has been attributed to the pneumonia that developed as a complication.

The Secretariat of Health in Baja California suggested that to mitigate the impact of respiratory conditions during the autumn-winter, including AH1N1 Influenza is necessary above all that people remain calm, because panic or psychosis might create greater problems health.

This requires that the community has primarily in mind that the virus causing this disease has a low level of lethality and is particularly easy to destroy if detected early.
