I am unable to locate an official website in Mexico that enumerates the number of confirmed individuals with H1N1 Swine Flu and the number of associated deaths by state.

Below is a summary table developed from news posts by Shiloh and others since about April 17th, 2009, that shows the number of suspected cases and deaths in Mexico by state. It is hard to either confirm or reconcile the information in the table with the comments from Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos regarding the number of infections and the number of deaths throughout Mexico (1614 current infections and 103 deaths, see above).

One thing seems to be certain. The bulk of the infections and deaths are concentrated in the Distrito Federal, the capital of Mexico, a 900+ square mile area with more than 19 million inhabitants. More official details from the Mexico Ministry of Health would help us better understand the nature of the threat of this new strain of influenza.
