Three million Dominicans will be immunized from today on

April 26, 2010, 7:28 Santo Domingo, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican government began a campaign today that aims to vaccinate more than three million people, especially children and adolescents against polio, rubella, measles and influenza A (H1N1).
The first three immunizations against diseases will continue until May 1, a second phase, between 12 and 19 next June, will cover risk groups of so-called bird flu, health officials said.
To that end, public and private schools began to circulate a form which asks for details of pupils in primary and secondary.
The Health Minister Bautista Rojas said that mass vaccination aims to keep control the spread of wild poliovirus eradication of measles, mumps, and reduce the risk of transmission of influenza A (H1N1) in its peak, the year past killed about one hundred people.
