Announce mass vaccination campaign in the Dominican

April 20, 2010, 17:06 Santo Domingo, Apr 20 (Prensa Latina) About four million Dominicans, especially children and pregnant women will be vaccinated in the coming weeks against several infectious diseases, health authorities announced today.
Rubella, measles, mumps, polio and influenza A (H1N1) are diseases that are the target of the Dominican Ministry of Health, according to a spokesman who said two million students in primary and secondary education will be vaccinated from next week.
The immunizations were conducted in the educational centers in parallel with the delivery of vitamins and cure of intestinal parasites in public schools across the country.
Sera against influenza and the A (H1N1) will apply in preference to risk groups: pregnant women, children and elderly people, said the owner of the field, Bautista Rojas.
The campaign will be supported by the Pan American Health whose director, Mirtha Roses, visit the country, the official said.
