    Health officials warned of a possible increase in cases of acute respiratory diseases and called on people to take preventive measures.


    Havana ? Authorities Cuba Health warned today about a possible increase in cases of acute respiratory diseases among the less than two years and those over 65 years of age, and called the people to take preventive measures.

    The newspaper Granma, citing statements by Llanes, said that in Cuba there was an increased circulation of influenza viruses identified as H3N2 and respiratory syncytial virus.

    The H3N2 virus and respiratory syncytial particularly affect children less than one year, causing damage in some babies in the bronchi, Granma said.
