    Dominican Republic reaches 1,309 deaths from COVID-19

    The Dominican Republic reached 1,309 deaths from COVID-19 this Sunday, when 20 deaths were reported on the last day, the Ministry of Public Health indicated.

    According to the special bulletin this Sunday, the fatality rate stood at 1.64 percent, after registering 79 thousand 732 infected, of which 954 were detected in the last 24 hours.

    Likewise, 214 thousand 307 people have been discarded after the detection test was carried out, there are 43 thousand 744 recovered and there are 34 thousand 679 active cases.

    Of the total confirmed, 51.70 percent are men with an average age of 38 years and 6,837 patients are in hospital isolation, while 27,842 do so in their homes under medical prescription, reported Prensa Latina.

    As for the deceased, the average age was 66 years, the majority were men and had long-standing chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

    The infections are mainly registered in the National District (22 thousand 599), Santo Domingo (17 thousand 653) and Santiago (7 thousand 935).

    The Dominican Republic registered 30 deaths from coronavirus this Saturday, while the new positive cases were 1,069, which brought the total infected in five months to 78,778.

    With the contents of bulletin # 142, issued this August 8, the country accumulates 1,289 deaths that maintain the fatality rate of the disease at 1.64%.

    The provinces of La Romana and Espaillat top the list of deaths registered in the last 24 hours, with 6 and 5 cases, respectively.

    According to the data provided by the health authorities, of the 78,778 positive cases, 34,951 are still active (44.36%), while 42,538 have already recovered (53.99%).

    In the last day, 4,139 PCR tests were processed to detect coronavirus, for a total of 290,267 samples made that have ruled out 211,489 cases.

    Of the new positives, the demarcations that reported more than 100 cases are the National District with 215, Santiago 178 and La Vega 112.

    Regarding health workers, the authorities reported that those who remain infected with coronavirus increased to 263, of which 64.63% (170) correspond to the female sex.

    317 patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 12 more than those reported yesterday, Friday. 42.27% are confined in centers of Greater Santo Domingo, 28.70% in Santiago and 12.61% in Duarte.

    As of today, the positivity in the processed samples, during the last 4 weeks, is 34.93%.

    1,173 new covid-19 positives and 13 deaths in the Dominican Republic

    At least 1,173 new coronavirus cases and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

    Bulletin 141 indicates that the confirmed cases rose to 77,709, while the deceased are 1,259. The positivity for the past four weeks is 34.92 percent and the case fatality rate is 1.62 percent.

    Those recovered reached 41,393 and active cases 35,057 of which 6,612 in hospital isolation and 28,445 in home isolation.

    The report details that 305 patients are admitted to intensive care units. 42.29 percent in Greater Santo Domingo; 27.21 percent in Santiago and 13.11 percent in Duarte.

    The median age of those infected is 38 years. 51.83 percent are men and 70.85 percent of the cases are concentrated in 12 municipalities.

    In total, 260 health workers have tested positive for the coronavirus, of which 168 are women.

    This Thursday alone 4,202 PCR tests were taken, for a total of 286,128 samples processed.

    During the 16 days that the curfew is in force, 21,739 cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the country, of which 876 were notified in the last 24 hours, when 24 deaths also occurred.

    In this sense, the total balance of cases amounted to 76,536 and that of deaths to 1,246, in the Dominican Republic.

    According to bulletin # 140 issued this August 6, the active cases total 34,751 and 40,539 people have recovered from the disease.

    3,491 PCR tests were performed yesterday, for a cumulative of 281,926 samples processed. The cases discarded add up to 205,390.

    Positive cases

    Regarding health workers, the authorities reported that there are 260 positive for coronavirus, of which 64.61% (168) correspond to the female sex.

    Of the patients positive for respiratory infection, 6,551 are in hospital isolation, while 28,200 are in home isolation.

    317 patients remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 41.96% in centers of Greater Santo Domingo, 27.76% in Santiago and 12.93% in Duarte.

    However, by place of residence, most of the deaths have been registered in the Santo Domingo province, which has a cumulative of 314 (6 new in the last 24 hours), 241 in the National District (7 new), 164 in Santiago (0 new), 93 in Duarte (2 new) and 62 in San Crist?bal (1 new).

    The median age of the deceased is 66 years, with an interquartile range of 52 to 76 years. As antecedent of morbidity, arterial hypertension was identified in 34.75% of patients and diabetes in 23.60%.

    66.21% (825) of the deaths correspond to persons of the male sex.

    As of Tuesday, 1,246 deaths from coronavirus have been reported nationwide, of which 692 are confirmed and 554 are listed in the report as probable deaths from COVID-19. The case fatality rate with respect to the cases registered in the last 4 epidemiological weeks is 1.14%.

    The Dominican Republic registered another 30 deaths on COVID-19 on Tuesday, when the demand for beds in the Intensive Care units in Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago fell, according to the Minister of Public Health, Rafael S?nchez C?rdenas.

    With 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, deaths increased to 1,213, according to the daily balance of the Ministry of Public Health, which places the case fatality rate at 1.63%.

    Meanwhile, confirmed cases rose to 74,295, after 1,178 new positives were reported in the last 24 hours.

    The information is contained in bulletin # 138 issued this August 4, which stands at 33,777 active cases.

    As of this Tuesday, 39,305 people have recovered from the disease. Yesterday 5,172 PCR tests were performed, for a cumulative of 273,701 processed samples. The discarded cases add up to 199,406.

    Positive cases

    In the last 24 hours, five people have died in the Dominican Republic from coronavirus, and there are 874 new cases, according to the bulletin on coronavirus in the country.

    In the last 24 hours, 4,815 new PCR laboratory tests were processed, of which 1,734 were positive, bringing the infections to 69,649.

    The information is contained in bulletin # 134, issued this Friday, July 31 by the Ministry of Public Health, which amounts to 32,019 active cases.

    As of this Friday, 36,470 people have recovered from the disease and 260,171 PCR samples have been processed. The cases discarded add up to 190,522.

    Regarding health workers, the authorities reported that there are 260 positive for coronavirus, of which 64.61% (168) correspond to the female sex.

    A thousand 733 new cases of Covid-19 and 23 deaths are reported in the Dominican Republic

    Santo Domingo, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Republic reported today 1,733 new cases of coronavirus and 23 deaths, reaching 67,915 confirmed and 1,146 deceased.
    According to the special bulletin of this Thursday, 1,447 patients are admitted, which means 76 percent of the occupancy of the beds intended for the care of this disease and 284 are in Intensive Care Units, for 72.44.

    Of the total confirmed, 52.31 percent are men and 187,441 people were discarded.

    The health authorities of the Dominican Republic confirmed 22 new deaths in the last 24 hours on Wednesday due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of victims to 1,123.

    The bulletin # 132 issued this July 29 by the Ministry of Public Health also revealed that, throughout the country, 1,492 new positives for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus were reported and the cases now reach the figure of 66,182 infected people.

    The main focus of infections continues to be Greater Santo Domingo, which today reports 42% (628) of new cases. While active cases fell to 31,112, compared to the figures released by the authorities in the last four days.

    As of Wednesday, 33,947 people have recovered from the disease and 250,424 PCR samples have been processed, of which 3,471 were performed in the last 24 hours. The cases discarded add up to 184,242.

    Coronavirus cases continue to rise in the Dominican Republic, where 534 new positives were recorded in the last 24 hours, a relatively low figure compared to the last six days when authorities reported more than 1,000 infections daily.

    The number of deaths from the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus rises to 1,101, after 18 people died yesterday. While the number of infections is 64,690.

    The information is contained in bulletin # 131 issued this July 28 by the Ministry of Public Health, which puts 31,575 active cases, 1,294 less positive than yesterday.

    As of Tuesday, 32,014 people have recovered from the disease.

    This Monday, 20 deaths and 1,248 new cases of coronavirus in the Dominican Republic occurred in the last 24 hours. All the deaths occurred in the National District, with 12, and the province of Santo Domingo, with eight.

    The Dominican Republic reached a new daily record of COVID-19 infections on Thursday, adding 1,572 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing to 57,615 people who have contracted the disease in the country.

    The Dominican Republic exceeded 1,000 deaths from coronavirus on Wednesday after six people died in the last 24 hours from complications of the disease, which to date has caused 1,005 deaths.

    While 1,246 new positives for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus were registered yesterday, making the country accumulate a total of 56,043 infected.

    The information is contained in bulletin # 125 issued this July 22 by the Ministry of Public Health, which amounts to 28,572 active cases.

    According to the authorities, new infections of the coronavirus were detected after performing 3,760 PCR tests, which is why 222,586 tests have been carried out in the country since March 1. In addition, 26,466 people have recovered from the disease.

    Regarding medical personnel, 246 are infected, both in the private and public spheres, of which 64.63% (159) correspond to the female sex.

    The Dominican population is under a curfew from 7:00 at night to 5:00 in the morning and with mobility restrictions for the 32 provinces, due to the outbreak of cases registered in the last month.
