California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday said his state will disregard revised guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that insist people don’t necessarily need to receive tests if they come into contact with people carrying coronavirus.
“I don’t agree with the new CDC guidance. Period. Full stop,” Newsom said in a virtual news conference. “And it’s not the policy in the state of California. We will not be influenced by that change.”
