Ras Al Khaimah: An Emirati woman from the Khatt area could be the latest death from the H1N1 virus.

The victim refused to stay in the hospital although physicians strongly recommended that she be admitted. She later died at home.

Samples from the woman have been sent to Abu Dhabi for analysis and examination to determine cause of death of the 44-year-old housewife.

Two versions of the death of the woman who suffered serious bronchial asthma have been circulated.

    Versions

The first version states that the woman who was admitted to a hospital in Ras Al Khaimah with her children were all diagnosed with H1N1 but the woman refused to stay in the hospital and was determined to leave the hospital for home, where she suffered complications that caused her death.

The other version states that the woman was wrongly diagnosed with the H1N1 virus at the hospital and was given Tamiflu but the drug negatively affected the her severe asthma and she suffered a stroke.

Family sources told Gulf News that the woman refused to stay in the hospital and went home, where she suffered further complications.

The Ras Al Khaimah Medical District is expected to receive results of the tests shortly from the ministry of health.
