  • Saudi Arabia: Two women die of H1N1 flu in Jazan

JEDDAH: An outbreak of swine flu, the H1N1 virus, has claimed the lives of two Saudi women in Jazan, according to a report in a local publication on Wednesday.
One of the victims was a 16-year-old inmate of a Ministry of Social Affairs rehabilitation center in Jazan. The teenager was moved to Jazan General Hospital last week with two other women infected with the virus. She died Tuesday.
The other victim, a woman in her twenties, was infected with swine flu a month ago. Members of her family said that she had difficulty breathing, a high temperature, and other complications. She died while in hospital.
She was from Dhabia village in Sabiya governorate, to the north of Jazan. The hospital handed her body over to her family for prayers and burial at the village cemetery.
