First H1N1 Casualty in 2011 Announced in Bahrain

Manama Jan 24 (BNA) A 46 year old Turkish man has become Bahrain's first Influenza A(H1N1) casualty this year, The Health Ministry announced today.
"The man was admitted to the Salmaniya Medical Complex for suffering from the obstructive airway disease", health Ministry public and international relations director Abdulaziz Al Refai said. Lab tests confirmed him H1N1 positive. His condition later worsened quickly, prompting the medical staff to transfer him to the intensive care unit where he passed away despite the doctor?s attempts to save his life. The Health Ministry urged all citizens and expatriates to abide by the hygienic rules and regulations to avert any potential infection. A H N BNA 1957 GMT 2011/01/24
