The spokesman called on the World Health Organization to provide solutions urgently, pointing out that the ministry had asked the organization to provide these solutions a year and a half ago, but it was not provided under the pretext of the absence of a pandemic, as requested by the provision two months ago, but it has not arrived today.

The Ministry of Health called on citizens to be cautious in the cold season from exposure to wind and avoid crowded places and not spend long periods abroad and follow the health methods during sneezing and coughing and stay for several days at home at the injury

The spread of a serious disease in the capital Sanaa is reaping many lives

                            News | Dated: 26-05-2018 | Since: 2 days ago

A medical source at Monte Carlo International and France 24 reported 47 deaths and 220 cases of a mysterious disease similar to the symptoms of swine flu since it appeared in December. Dr. Ali al-Mahakri, the National Influenza Coordinator at the Ministry of Health in Sanaa, said that the disease, which is similar in symptoms to H1N1 flu, continues to harvest more lives without knowing the exact cause of its rapid outbreak. The epidemic has so far hit 13 Yemeni provinces as well as the capital Sana'a, where hospitals have recorded about half the number of suspected deaths and injuries. According to official statistics, about 90 percent of deaths from the disease are people between the ages of 18 and 80 years. Yemeni health institutions are unable to diagnose this disease because of the low efficiency of their medical laboratories and the lack of solutions needed to test suspected samples of the virus. Authorities under the Houthis in Sanaa said they had sent laboratory samples to Jordan in coordination with relevant international organizations. In less than three days, the patient's conditions deteriorate toward his last hours of life, from flu symptoms to severe respiratory failure. Many people with the symptoms of this unknown disease arrive daily in emergency departments in some Yemeni hospitals, while others refuse to receive them for fear of deadly infection.
