World Bank helps reduce the risk of Turkmenistan outbreaks

Strengthen the capacity to prevent the spread of avian influenza among poultry, prevent the transmission of the virus from birds to people and improve the preparedness for a potential human influenza pandemic - is a major goal of World Bank project in Turkmenistan.
Monitoring the implementation of this project by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. A UN Development Programme is assisting the Government of Turkmenistan reschat tasks associated with procurement and financial management.
Over the past six months as part of this project was the overhaul of the central veterinary laboratory in Akhal alayate, purchased sophisticated laboratory equipment, including disposable instruments, and trained veterinarians.
