    This is the first mention of Madinah region: One new case of bird flu (H5N8)

    The ministry, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, continues its efforts to contain the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8).

    While the field veterinary teams in the provinces of Al-Kharj, Huraila, Dharma, Dawadmi, Bani Tamim, Al-Aflaj, Thadak, Al-Dera'iya and Al-Quwaiya in Riyadh, Buraidah and Bakiriya in Al-Qassim and Al-Ahsa Region in the Eastern Region and Madinah Region follow the safe disposal procedures of birds in bird markets and traditional breeding grounds. Emergency plan to combat the spread of the disease with a radius of 5 km.

    On the side of laboratory diagnosis, the Ministry's veterinary laboratories have received 3,171 samples to be tested for this disease, all of which were completed. The samples were collected on the basis of citizen communications and epidemiological survey procedures in the vicinity of infected and non-infected areas. Different.

    The Ministry is also continuing to implement The Ministry calls upon the owners of birds and project owners to abide by the ministry's decision to prevent movement between the regions without the prior permission of the ministry as previously announced.     The ministry said that the toll free number of the Central Information and Emergency Unit for Livestock (8002470000) is available 24 hours a day to answer queries, provide guidance to bird breeders in ways that protect them from disease and receive reports of suspected cases of individuals or productive projects. In the last twenty-four hours (6), all of which have been addressed, while the number of inquiries about the disease reached (34), bringing the total number of inquiries and inquiries (1522).

    In addition to veterinary awareness and guidance, the Ministry continues its efforts to raise awareness of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8) in markets and communities in all regions of the Kingdom.
