Not directly bf related, but there is/was some sort of (alleged) scandal surrounding the Minister of Health in Kuwait...Kuwait government resigns March 5, 2007 MAHMOUD HARBI KUWAIT'S government resigned yesterday to thwart a no-confidence motion against the country's health minister, a member of the ruling family. Ten members of the Kuwaiti parliament presented the motion last month against Sheikh Ahmad al-Abdullah al-Sabah, over suspected financial and administrative breaches at the health ministry. The vote was due to have taken place in parliament today, but the cabinet's resignation automatically cancels the parliament session. Sheikh Ahmad had refused to resign, resulting in a stand-off between the elected parliament and the government, where the emir has the last word in politics. The emir has asked the prime minister, Sheikh Nasser al-Mohammad al-Sabah, to form a new government. Political sources said the government was determined not to let the no-confidence vote go ahead as it was concerned that parliament's inquiries would not stop at Sheikh Ahmad. http://news.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=344352007
