    MITHI: Three more children died at Mithi Civil Hospital in Tharparkar within 48 hours increasing death toll of children in drought-hit region to 53 this month, ARY News reported on Sunday.

    Undernourishment and other health problems in the desert district continued to take toll of human lives in the area.

    The death toll of the kids has reached to 53 in February, while 120 in the ongoing year, the hospital sources said.

    Every year hundreds of children die due to malnutrition, various infections and lack of proper medical facilities and medicines in the region, health department sources said.

    THARPARKAR: Seven kids lost their lives here on Saturday (3rd of February) as a result of malnutrition and ongoing outbreak of viral infections, reported sources.
    So far some 54 little ones died due to the epidemic that surfaced last month. However, officials bite their tongue and choose to stay silent when it comes to comment on the crucial concern.
    Talking to Newspakistan.tv, a source from Mithi Civil Hospital revealed that they have been instructed not to reveal the number of children who expired due to negligence of the concerned officials.

    It has further been learnt that parents of ailing children also protest against medicine paucity and non-serious attitudes of doctors and staff in the hospital.

    Malnutrition Kills Four More Children In Tharparkar

    THARPARKAR: Four more children died on Saturday due to malnutrition within the past 24 hours in Tharparkar, Sindh as the child death toll continues to climb.

    According to sources, the death of these children has raised the death toll to 58 for this month and 281 for this year in Tharparkar. Sources further informed that more than 50 children are still under treatment at Civil Hospital in Mithi.

    Five more children die of malnutrition in Tharparkar

    Malnutrition and epidemics continue to claim more lives as five more children expired during 24 hours, the health department said on Sunday. According to details, five children including an aged four-month, 12-day, one day and two newborns expired at Mithi Hospital, Tharparkar while a dozen others affected of malnutrition and epidemics were still under treatment. The latest deaths have taken the death toll in Tharparkar in April to 70 and 270 in the ongoing year.

      THARPARKAR: At least 84 children died over the past month due to malnutrition and various other diseases, data obtained from the provincial health department indicated.

      According to statistics for Tharparkar compiled by Sindh's health department, the children who died due to malnutrition and various other diseases in government hospitals in October were as young as newborn and till five years old.


      As opposed to data from the prior months and last year's comparable period, the number of infant and young children's deaths this October has been considerably high.

      In total, 703 children have died due to malnutrition and different diseases to date in 2019.

      THARPARKAR: Seven more children have died in the month of November month due to malnutrition and various other diseases, bringing the total death toll for 2019 to a whopping 720.

      Four of the seven children who passed away in November died due to malnutrition while the remaining three lost their lives to various other diseases.


      Sources in the health department said two newborns, a 45-day-old, and a four-month-old died in the past 24 hours in Tharparkar's Civil Hospital Mithi.

      Taking the recent deaths into account as well as the 84 children who died over the past month, the total death toll for the year has shot up to 720.

        Children’s Death Toll In Thar Rises To 803 As Three More Kids Expire At Mithi Hospital

        Three more children hailing from different villages of Tharparkar district died at Civil hospital Mithi on Saturday.

        The deceased children include Suleman Mahranpoto’s daughter Shumeet, age one and half a month, newly born son of Arsalan Chandio and a 17-day baby boy Abu Bakar, son of one Bhooro, resident of village Pinhariyo.

        According to data collected through official and other sources, at least 803 children have expired in Thar Desert district from January till date during current year.
