The number of deaths rose in Qamishli National Hospital, on Monday, to 25, as a result of medical negligence and a lack of resources, according to reports from medical sources from the city to the north-eastern Syria. The 14 patients have lost their lives, on Sunday, immediately after the sudden interruption of the power supply for the hospital,which led patients to stop the supply of oxygen. Al-Qamishli is a problem in that it is an isolated government pocket deep in bandit country up against the Turkish border and largely dependent on air supply. Like all these pockets, held by any of the factions, they are running low on everything and any kind of repair, requiring parts, is consequently tricky to impossible. SAA operations are now rapidly clearing the West of the country so this should help resolve the problem but in the short term it will create a number of new rebel pockets. Once the AQ/SFA are cleared from the west then there should be a more 'traditional' front line between IS and the Syrian Government - and not so many pockets.
