Below is a letter that I submitted (via online form post) to my community leaders. Please feel free to use any (or all of it) portion that might help you in getting others to prepare:
"I think it's important that our community start to discuss the need for preperation in regards to Bird Flu and it's potential impact to our community. I believe Bird Flu does pose a very real danager to our residents and surrounding communities. A good first step would be to inform residents that stockpiling is a good first step to preparing for any potential disaster (e.g Ice Storm 2004).
