Workshop to cover avian flu preparations

A free workshop to help families prepare for a potential avian flu pandemic will be held Thursday 7 p.m. at Duluth's First United Methodist (the copper-top) Church (Coppertop) 230 East Skyline Parkway.
Speakers will include Duluth Fire Chief John Strongitharm, St. Lukes Epidemiologist and avian flu expert Dr. Linda Van Etta, and registered nurse Dan Billings.
There will also be demonstrations and information on maintaining food, water and supplies; what to do in the event of utility service interruptions, and information on organizing a neighborhood network.
